Moving up to CCNP ENCOR after David Bombal's courses? Test against the v1.2 blueprint
David Bombal's automation and Python material is unusually well aimed at where CCNP ENCOR has moved - Cisco renamed domain 6.0 to "Automation and Artificial Intelligence" in v1.2 and it is now 15% of the exam. But there is a trap in stepping up with any pre-2026 course: ENCOR v1.2 removed wireless entirely on 19 March 2026, so a course section you would otherwise dutifully work through is no longer on the exam at all. FigigExams gives you a free, full-length 350-401 practice exam built on the current v1.2 blueprint, with a domain board ranked by what each gap actually costs. No credit card.

The wireless trap in older CCNP ENCOR material
CCNP ENCOR 350-401 v1.2 took effect on 19 March 2026 and removed wireless from the exam. That content moved to the new CCNP Wireless track and its core exam, 350-101 WLCOR. Any ENCOR course, book or question bank recorded before March 2026 still contains a wireless module, and studying it is time spent on material that cannot appear on your paper.
This is the single most common way candidates waste weeks on ENCOR right now, because the exam number did not change - 350-401 is still 350-401, so a course listing does not obviously look out of date. Check the blueprint version, not the exam number.
The other change most secondary summaries miss: domain 6.0 was renamed to "Automation and Artificial Intelligence", and topic 4.5 now covers Catalyst Center "traditional and AI-powered workflows" - so AI appears on ENCOR in two separate places. Cisco also dropped the named vendor tools from 6.7 (Chef, Puppet, SaltStack) in favour of comparing agent versus agentless orchestration. Full breakdown: what changed in ENCOR v1.2.
| ENCOR v1.2 domain | Weight | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure | 30% | The heaviest domain on the exam |
| Security | 20% | Highest weight-per-topic - only 4 topics carry it |
| Architecture | 15% | |
| Automation and Artificial Intelligence | 15% | Renamed in v1.2; AI also appears in topic 4.5 |
| Virtualization | 10% | |
| Network Assurance | 10% | Topics 3.1.a/3.1.b are the only troubleshoot verbs on the exam |
Weights read from Cisco's published 350-401 v1.2 exam-topics document. Full topic list: CCNP ENCOR exam topics.
What actually changes when you step up from CCNA to ENCOR
There is no formal prerequisite - you can book ENCOR without holding CCNA. The difficulty jump is real, though, and it is not simply "harder routing":
- Depth over breadth on the fundamentals. ENCOR assumes you are fluent in the routing and switching CCNA introduced. It does not re-teach it; it asks about behaviour at the edges.
- Automation is now a graded quarter of your effort. Between domain 6.0 at 15% and the AI-powered workflows in topic 4.5, programmability is no longer the afterthought it was at associate level. If you worked through Bombal's Python and network-automation material, this is where it pays.
- Virtualization and assurance are new axes. Neither has a real CCNA equivalent, and both are pure study rather than lab-instinct.
- Wireless is gone. If you were dreading it after CCNA, that anxiety is now misdirected - see above.

Where CCNP ENCOR candidates lose marks
Across 1,422 domain-tagged CCNP ENCOR 350-401 answers, the costliest domain was Infrastructure - at 30% of the exam, the heaviest single domain in any certification we measure, it put 7.0 points at risk even at a respectable 76.8% accuracy. The weakest domain by score was Automation and Artificial Intelligence at 66.9%, which is unsurprising given Cisco renamed that domain in v1.2 and much published study material has not caught up.
This reading rests on only 3 candidates and is published as provisional. Full table, sample and limits →
The practical read: Infrastructure at 30% will be your costliest domain almost regardless of how well you score in it, so it deserves the first block of revision even when your percentage there looks acceptable. Automation and AI being the weakest domain by score is the predictable consequence of a blueprint that changed faster than the study material.
What you get back from a FigigExams ENCOR paper
A percentage tells you where you stand. It does not tell you what to do next. Every FigigExams CCNP ENCOR paper produces two things beyond the score:
- A weighted domain board. Every domain you answered, ranked by weighted shortfall - the blueprint weight multiplied by your miss rate - so the domain at the top is the one costing you the most marks, not merely the one you scored lowest in. On ENCOR that almost always puts Infrastructure at the top, because 30% weight dominates the arithmetic.
- An Exam Tips block on every single question. Each item ships an Explanation that teaches the question and a separate Exam Tips block - the memorize-this table or rule for the concept. It is the part candidates pull up the night before, and it is in the free exam too.
The arithmetic behind the board is written out in full on the study path method page - no black box, no proprietary "readiness score" you cannot check.
One free full-length paper, no credit card. If you want the rest of the bank afterwards it is $39 once for lifetime access to every practice exam in that certification, including papers we add later - not a subscription, nothing to cancel, and no auto-renewal. For comparison, Boson ExSim is $99 for a year that renews itself.

Where this sits in the certification path
ENCOR is the core of the CCNP Enterprise track
ENCOR 350-401 is the core exam for CCNP Enterprise. Passing it alone does not certify you - CCNP Enterprise requires ENCOR plus one concentration exam - but ENCOR is the one everyone sits first, and it is also a qualifying exam for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure lab.
Coming from the associate tier? Start with the CCNA readiness check if you have not sat 200-301 yet. Note that the equivalent Cisco security track has its own core exam, SCOR 350-701, which is a different blueprint entirely.

What the FigigExams CCNP ENCOR 350-401 pack includes
Most practice-exam products are a question bank and a score. The layer on top of the questions is what changes your next week of study. Everything below is included with the CCNP ENCOR 350-401 pack, and everything except the additional papers is included with the free exam. Verified 4 September 2026.
3 full-length CCNP ENCOR exams, 305 questions
Every paper is timed to the real CCNP ENCOR 350-401 format and uses every question type the live exam uses. A complete 101-question paper is free with no credit card.
An Exam Tip on every question
Each item carries a written explanation of why the correct answer is correct and why each distractor fails, plus a separate Exam Tip - the single thing to remember on exam day.
Exam Coach: a concept-level report
Finishing a CCNP ENCOR 350-401 paper returns a per-concept breakdown across every domain rather than a bare percentage, naming the concepts that cost you marks.
Study Path: revision ranked by what it is worth
Your CCNP ENCOR 350-401 result is scored against the published blueprint weights and ranked by weighted shortfall - domain weight multiplied by your miss rate. That is why Infrastructure at 30% of the blueprint outranks a domain you scored worse on but which carries half the weight.
Study cards from your own mistakes
Select any explanation and save it as a study card. Your CCNP ENCOR deck is built from the questions you actually got wrong, which is the only revision list worth carrying into the final week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is wireless still on the CCNP ENCOR 350-401 exam?
No. CCNP ENCOR v1.2, effective 19 March 2026, removed wireless from the exam. It moved to the new CCNP Wireless track and its core exam 350-101 WLCOR. Because the exam number stayed 350-401, older courses and question banks still contain a wireless module that can no longer appear on your paper - check the blueprint version, not the exam number.
Can I go straight from CCNA to CCNP ENCOR?
Yes. Cisco removed formal prerequisites, so you can book ENCOR without holding CCNA. The jump in difficulty is real though: ENCOR assumes routing and switching fluency rather than teaching it, and adds virtualization, network assurance and a 15% Automation and Artificial Intelligence domain that has no real CCNA equivalent.
Which CCNP ENCOR domain is most important to study?
Infrastructure, at 30% - the heaviest single domain in any certification we measure. Because weighted shortfall is weight multiplied by miss rate, Infrastructure tops the ranking of what to revise even at a decent accuracy. In our August 2026 provisional reading it put 7.0 points of the real exam at risk at 76.8% accuracy, while the lowest-scoring domain, Automation and AI at 66.9%, cost 5.0.
Is there a free CCNP ENCOR practice exam?
Yes. A full-length 350-401 practice exam is free with no credit card - the code CCNP-EXAM-FULL applies automatically after you create an account. Every question carries an Explanation and an Exam Tip. The rest of the pack is one $39 purchase covering every ENCOR paper for life, against $99 a year for a subscription that auto-renews.
Does passing ENCOR give me CCNP Enterprise?
No. ENCOR 350-401 is the core exam. CCNP Enterprise requires ENCOR plus one concentration exam of your choice. ENCOR is also a qualifying exam for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure lab, which is why most people sit it first regardless of which concentration they eventually pick.
