Read these the way the exam intends
Before you start, one instruction that changes results more than any amount of extra reading: answer as the person accountable, not the person doing the work. When a question says FIRST, it is asking what a security leader would defend afterwards - which usually means protecting people, containing damage, or checking policy before touching anything technical. Strong engineers fail the CISSP by choosing the most effective technical action, which is very often one of the three wrong answers.

Why a full exam matters more on the CISSP than anywhere else
On most certifications a full-length practice exam is simply better than scattered questions. On the CISSP the gap is wider, for a reason specific to how the exam works:
- The exam is adaptive. It chases your ability level, so a weak domain keeps producing questions until the algorithm has measured you. Neglect Software Development Security and it will not cost you a tidy 10% - it can take over your test.
- The weights are nearly flat. Six of the eight domains sit between 12% and 13%, so you cannot triage by weight the way you can on Security+ or ENCOR. The only thing that separates priorities is your own competence, and you cannot see that from the inside. The full outline, domain by domain.
- Breadth is the failure mode. People do not fail the CISSP because they were shallow everywhere. They fail because one domain far from their day job was never seriously studied, and they did not know which one it was.

What is the manager perspective, exactly?
CISSP items are written so the technically strongest option is usually not correct. The right answer is what a security leader would defend given risk, scope, legal exposure and business context - which often means safety, containment or notification before technical remediation. Practising against that framing matters more than raw question volume, and it is the single biggest reason strong engineers fail.
Are these real CISSP exam questions?
No. These are original items written against the ISC2 exam outline. Real questions are copyrighted and covered by the ISC2 code of ethics you formally agree to. There is also no point: the exam is adaptive and drawn from a large pool, so there is no fixed set to memorise, and the answers turn on judgement rather than recall.
Do I need five years of experience to sit the exam?
No - the experience requirement applies to the certification, not the exam. Pass without it and you become an Associate of ISC2, with six years to accumulate five years of paid experience across two or more of the eight domains. A relevant four-year degree or an approved credential waives one of those five years.
What practice score means I am ready?
Consistently in the low 80s across several full-length attempts, with no single domain badly lagging. Steady beats spiky - a candidate at 82% everywhere is in better shape than one at 90% overall who is at 55% in one domain, because an adaptive exam will find that domain.
